Training Collaborative: Fearless Fundraising

Tue, 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM VIRTUAL ONLY

Description

Fearless Fundraising: How to Ask, Use Social Media & Secure Silent Auction Items
Fundraising can feel intimidating—but it doesn’t have to. Fearless Fundraising is a 75-minute, highly interactive virtual training designed to equip Junior League members with the confidence, language, and practical tools needed to successfully support League fundraising efforts.
This session reframes fundraising as relationship-building and mission-driven advocacy rather than “asking for money.” Participants will learn how to make clear, authentic asks; identify who and what to ask for; and leverage both personal networks and social media to amplify the League’s impact. Dedicated time is also spent on securing silent auction items, including how to approach businesses, what makes a strong donation, and how to communicate the value of partnering with the League.
The extended 75-minute format allows for deeper engagement through live polls, breakout discussions, guided role-play, and real-world examples. Members will actively practice fundraising conversations, brainstorm outreach opportunities, and receive supportive feedback in a low-pressure environment. The session concludes with a personalized action step so participants leave ready to take immediate, confident action.
Whether new to fundraising or looking to strengthen existing skills, Fearless Fundraising empowers members to show up with clarity, confidence, and purpose—while advancing the League’s mission through collective impact.
Participants will learn how to:
• Confidently and authentically make fundraising asks
• Reframe fear and rejection as a normal part of the fundraising process
• Identify potential donors and silent auction opportunities within personal and professional networks
• Use social media to support fundraising efforts without feeling sales-focused
• Clearly articulate the League’s mission and impact to potential supporters
• Leave with scripts, templates, and a defined next step for involvement
This training is designed for all members, regardless of prior fundraising experience, and supports the League’s commitment to developing confident, capable leaders who advance the mission together.
